TGS Garden Workdays at Zilker
These workdays are currently only open to Tejas Garden Stars members but eventually will open to the public. Thank you for your understanding. If you are a member, contact your club’s coordinator for the case-sensitive code to register. If you are a Tejas Garden Stars member interested in leading workdays, coordinate your attendance with Liath Appleton, in addition to registering here in GivePulse. If you’d like to bring a youth volunteer age 12+ with you, email lindsay.loftin@austintexas.gov to complete a youth waiver in advance.
This event could involve:
- Removing soil from a garden bed to prep the bed for replanting
- Planting
- Removing brush
- Mulching
- Weeding
- Pruning
Please arrive prepared to work outdoors with closed-toed shoes, work gloves, and a full water bottle. We recommend you bring a sun hat and bug spray.
The garden gate opens at 9 am. When you arrive at the garden, show your GivePulse confirmation email to the gate staff at check-in to receive free admission for the day. Once you’ve checked in, please park in our volunteer parking lot, which is down a dirt road from our regular parking lot, then walk to the Hummingbird Garden and your group leader will direct you from there. Thank you for your support of the garden!
