About
Join the Austin Organic Gardeners at the Zilker teaching gardens every Saturday from 9:15 – 11 a.m. tending to the veggie beds! The garden gate opens at 9 am so we needed to shift the start time to 9:15.
SAFETY: Bring water, gloves and your favorite weeding tool. We will have some tools on hand to share.
VOLUNTEER PARKING: Drive through paved parking lots, past the public restroom, and then through the orange cones down a mulched road, past picnic tables. Park by the green house and white shed on the left, you should see other cars parked there.
ENTRANCE: Enter through the back gate at ZBG. Tell the attendant you are volunteering in the Austin Organic Gardens and there will be no charge to enter.
TEACHING GARDEN LOCATION: The garden beds are in the Pioneer Village next to the red Blacksmith Shop. MAP

Requirement Details
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
