Event Details
Help support the care and development of the Zilker Botanical Garden! This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, but we request that you register yourself for all shifts you plan to attend. If you are brining a child under the age of 18 with you, please contact lindsay.loftin@austintexas.gov as you will need to complete and submit a youth volunteer waiver before you attend.

This event could involve:

  • Removing soil from a garden bed to prep the bed for replanting
  • Planting
  • Removing brush
  • Mulching
  • Weeding
  • Pruning
  • Compost maintenance
  • Assisting with special event setup

Please arrive prepared to work outdoors with closed-toed shoes and a full water bottle. We suggest you bring a sun hat. We will provide work gloves and all necessary tools, but feel free to bring your own.

The garden gate opens at 9 am. When you arrive at the garden, show your GivePulse confirmation email to the gate staff at check-in to receive free admission for the day. Once you’ve checked in, please park in our volunteer parking lot, which is down a dirt road from our regular parking lot, then meet at the flagpole in front of the main Garden Center building. Thank you for your support of the garden!
